High School is about having fun and making memories. One day, I was cornered by my adviser and enticed me to join the school pageant after she noticed me with peculiar taste in fashion-wearing boots and double-layered skirts-during our fashion show in my sophomore year. I hesitated and declined several times but she told me that she was frustrated of not having joined pageants because she wasnt event given a consideration then. She encouraged me to join because she know I can make it and bring home the bacon for our division. I talked with my mother and she replied with hesitation, as well. I was so young and will be competing with the seniors and juniors in a contest that requires beauty and brain but I told my mum what my teacher told me and was delighted that I considered the offer. After all the pre-pageants, ramps, struts and pose, and questions and answer I was hailed the first "Miss Marist teen" in our school. Without her, I dont think I would be more grateful of my life now. She let me experienced her frustrations and made me realize that sometimes, in life you just have to be a "yes!" person so you could see whats behind the opportunity.
