The weather and you
or just
me and you
or simply
The sky and sea.
I've been hearing a lot of people now talking about what to do on their upcoming Holidays next week and I'm just scanning through all the photos I took from our recent trip to Puerto Princesa, Palawan. And now Im here typing all the words I could put into a sentence to make a paragraph. These sights are enough for me to stay at home wondering how it would feel if the waves were calm on our way to the Underground River...
Written on the rocks were etched writings by foreign military men and soldiers. A vivid example of it is the photo above. It was said that this was first discovered by foreigners.

Since I was a little girl, I have always love the warm blue sea. My love for it deepens when my Grandma brought me with her during my Summer Break in third Grade. Our destination?Bohol via Cagayan De Oro. We had to travel to Cagayan De Oro for 8 hours from General Santos City then rode a fastcraft to cebu then travel four(4) hours to Bohol. We stayed in Loay where her tita lives. I can still remember catching small crabs in their compound and got scolded because I should have taken the bigger ones. Later, my Grandma's tita who is called "Ping-Ping" surprised me with three big crabs I've enjoyed myself.
The Panglao Island was a virgin Island then, with no hotels just yet in my sights and everyone can access to the beach without entrance fee and parking lot fee.My grandparents weren't there when I explored the beach with my tito's and tita's whose name I cannot vaguely remember. Komodo Dragon can freely wander along the road without being harmed by the Locals. It was the most surreal trip I've ever been. Its like I've been to a paradise. And that's when I have grown fonder of beaches.

I didnt brag about my trip to Panglao beach because I was young then, too naive and too eager to explore and know lot of things and believes what I see then was pretty much the normal stuff. But now, I couldnt help myself but talk about it. Though, some would say "Boracay is better!!" I will still say " Panglao is!But I dont know if it will always be." I think Anda is said to be better with finer white sands, caves and it's getting a lot of recognition since last year and it is still in Bohol. I will go there, this year. :)

Unlike my other sea trips this one's totally unforgettable. Aside from being a burden to my mates(they shouldered all my expenses, there.) We had to sail through hurdle of waves and get churning bellies just to reach the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park and it is so amazing to see calm jade green waters of the river after getting through big waves after big waves. After our trip to the Underground River, the banca operator informed us that ours was the last vehicle to depart Sabang Port given that the allowed bancas were number 48 to 63(ours was 49) due to the unexpected weather, it hadn't rain but the wind and the waves made a hurdle plus the weather is gloomy. The coast guards had announced to halt the tour for that day to prevent mishaps. We were unluckily lucky. They said waves like that happens when earthquake is happening, nearby. Hours later, we found out that an earthquake hit Taiwan.
As you can see the Underground river is filled with interesting and unique rock formations. Actually this is not an underground river because this is above sea level.

When I was in Elementary I've got this guy text me to follow him at Eden, Davao during Summer for we were both in Davao but I was in the different side of the City. I giggled that time coz we were both there and we're from General Santos so to my mind that time we were destined together. haha! funny how an eleven year old girl think of such?! I forgot where my parents and I went that time it was also a park but I forgot its name. I was so giddy that time and I wanted to see him there but it was too far from where I was. I havent regretted not seeing him there, though. And now I'm glad to have visited Eden this year rather than years ago coz it made me appreciate more the beauty of nature and its impact on me especially now that I'm working and most of my weekends are dedicated to some meetings and government-related activities. The excitement was there and the feeling to experience all the park could offer is so high I have never backed out to one single activity that I'm allowed to try. I never let opportunities slip through my fingers that is why whatever it is thats offered to me are instantly answered with a "yes!"
As I wander along the aviary up to the Butterfly garden with my colleagues we made a lot of halts and picture taking and tried some activities that awaken the inner child within me at PINOY GAMES. We've found a dandelion which a friend have blown several times for a photo-op but haven't captured well. Walking down that uphill garden gave me a soothing relief, it gave me a chance to mingle with nature at a short span of time and passing through my nasal was the scent of the greeneries that I can rarely smell in the City.
My friends and I was actually planning to visit the park but never got the chance to. We've already reached Divine Mercy Shrine, Cagayan De Oro for my birthday and Bohol during the Fiesta in Dauis for the sake of adventure and fun but never have we visited Eden Park which is only a three-hour drive away. I thought visiting the park would take me years and then suddenly, out of no where I've been invited to join a pack and explore all the places we could ever take a step on in one day and tried their recreational activities such as skyswing, skycycling, skyrider and Indiana Jones. The skyswing was the scariest of them all or maybe it was the lack of sleep and the first activity Ive tried that made it more scary. I can only imagine the feeling of having a swing in Ecuador where you have to do it into a steepish hill around 100 feet up and you're released into the void over the canyon without any safety features. Could any girl like me brave theirselves up and try it?
